Our Mission

The Odd Cat Mission

The Odd Cat Bali opened its doors back in 2016 and it has always been our mission to sustainably rescue and care for abandoned cats and kittens. Since then, we have rescued over 600+ and rehomed 400+ cats and kittens. We endeavor to continue this mission for as long as possible.

We receive requests to rescue kittens and cats suffering from abuse, abandonment injury and neglect every single day. Whether it’s a mama cat with her kittens thrown out of an unsympathetic house or a lost kitten in the busy local wet market, we try our very best to rescue all of them

Not only do we provide basic food, shelter, veterinary care for all of our rescued cats, we also respect, honour and love every single one of them, irrespective of their background, character and disability. We continue to look after all their needs until a new, loving, forever home is found for them, no matter how long it takes.

If you are capable of helping these most in need kittens and cats, we need you! Adoption is one of the best things anyone can do to help. However, we also understand that not everyone is in a position to adopt? That is okay, you can also help them in alternative ways, please check out How can I help?

As a private rescue organisation, we adopt a strict no-kill policy. That means unlike most other shelters in the world, we do not euthanise cats for population control reasons. Thus, with limited resources and in order to keep our operation sustainable, we simply cannot assist with every single request of rescue that we receive daily. We are not capable of and do not accept dumping or surrenders from the general public.

That being said, we try our very best to help by providing advice, alternative solutions and even referrals to partner shelters when required. If you believe that you require our special assistance, please send us a message and one of our friendly staff will get back to you.

Finally, we simply cannot do this without your support and a sustainable model. Thus, we are transforming into a comprehensive cat centre for all cat lovers in Bali. We envision The Odd Cat to create long term social impact to end the endless cycle of rescuing. It’s a dream we know can come true & we'll keep working hard to help as many cats as we can.
